Bio

I grew up in Spartanburg, a small Southern city located in the Upstate of South Carolina.  I remember making art at a very young age - our schools had really great teachers and my parents were very supportive.  I ended up going to Furman University where I majored in art and became focused on painting.  My first oil painting was done in Cortona, Italy where I was studying abroad for the summer.  I graduated in 2000 and spent the next 5 years traveling and living in various places.  I worked as a hotel housekeeper in Denali, Alaska, as a faux finisher's assistant in Charlotte, NC, as a tennis instructor in Long Island, as a camp counselor in Tuxedo, NC, as an administrative assistant at Christies Auction House in New York City, and as an au pair for a family that took me to 24 countries over 10 months to snowboard on 5 continents.  In 2005, I decided to go back to school and ended up at the College of Charleston where I received an MPA in Arts Managment.  I graduated in 2007 and moved back to Spartanburg to work for HUB-BUB as the Director of their Artist-in-Residence Program and Development Director.  There I spent three and half years working with incredibly talented and good people in a very supportive community.  I also met the man of my dreams who I am currently married to.  I left HUB-BUB in January 2011 and now live in San Diego with my husband and our two crazy dogs.
